Onboarding process
Updated October 2026 · 2 min read
Onboarding verifies your business so you can accept live payments. It all happens online, in your dashboard. Most of the time goes into gathering documents, so have them ready before you start.
The onboarding steps
- 1Register
Sign up with your name, business email and mobile number, and verify them with a one-time password (OTP).
- 2Add business details
Tell us your business type, registered name, PAN, GSTIN if you have one, and your business address.
- 3Add your bank account
Add the current account where your settlements should arrive. It must be in your business’s name.
- 4Describe how you sell
Share the website, app or social page where you’ll collect payments, and what you sell. Your website should show your prices, contact details and your terms, refund and privacy policies.
- 5Upload documents
Upload the documents for your business type. See Documents required.
- 6Sign the agreement
Review the merchant agreement and sign it online.
- 7Verification and activation
Our team reviews your application. Once it’s approved, live mode is switched on and you can take real payments.
How long it takes
Verification usually takes [X working days — confirm before launch] once every document is in. Missing or unclear documents are the most common cause of delay.
Tips for a quick approval
- Use the same business name on your PAN, GST certificate and bank account.
- Publish your contact details, prices and policies on your website before you apply.
- Upload clear, complete colour scans, not cropped photos.
- Keep your phone nearby: our team may call to confirm a detail.
Frequently asked questions
Can my developers start before I’m approved?+
Usually, yes. Test mode is available as soon as you sign up, so integration can start while verification is in progress. If you can’t see test mode, ask our team.
What if my application needs changes?+
You’ll get an email and a dashboard alert explaining what to fix. Update the detail or upload the document again, and the review continues from there.
I don’t have a website. Can I still sign up?+
Yes. You can collect payments with Payment Links, QR Code Payments or Pay Profile, none of which needs a website.
Documents required
Updated October 2026 · 2 min read
The documents we need depend on how your business is registered. Keep clear scans ready before you start onboarding, and make sure the business name matches across all of them.
Documents every business needs
- PAN card of the business, or of the owner for a sole proprietorship
- Proof of your bank account: a cancelled cheque or a recent bank statement in the business’s name
- Identity and address proof of the owner, partners or directors, such as Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or driving licence
- GST certificate, if your business is registered for GST
Extra documents by business type
| Business type | Also needed |
|---|---|
| Sole proprietorship | One proof of business, such as a GST certificate, Udyam (MSME) registration or shop and establishment licence |
| Partnership firm | Partnership deed and the firm’s registration certificate, if registered |
| Limited liability partnership (LLP) | LLP agreement and certificate of incorporation |
| Private or public limited company | Certificate of incorporation, MOA and AOA, and a board resolution naming the authorised signatory |
| Trust, society or NGO | Registration certificate, trust deed or bylaws, and 12A or 80G certificates if you have them |
The final list can vary with your business and the products you use. Our onboarding team confirms exactly what’s needed during sign-up.
Frequently asked questions
Which file types can I upload?+
[PDF, JPG or PNG, up to X MB per file — confirm before launch.]
Do documents need to be self-attested?+
Upload self-attested copies where the form asks for them. Our team will tell you if anything else is needed.

| Payments | Test payments only | Real customer payments |

Keep your keys safe
- Never put your key secret in website code or a mobile app.
- Store it in your server’s environment settings, not in your code repository.
- Give access only to the people who need it.
- If a secret is exposed, generate a new one straight away and stop using the old one.
Make test payments
In test mode, use the test cards, UPI IDs and banks listed in our developer documentation to try both successful and failed payments.
Webhooks
Updated October 2026 · 2 min read
Webhooks are automatic messages PayandPay sends to your server when something happens, such as a payment succeeding, a refund completing or a payout failing, so your system stays up to date without asking.
Events you can receive
| Event | When it’s sent |
|---|---|
| Payment successful | A customer’s payment has gone through |
| Payment failed | A payment was declined or abandoned |
| Refund processed | A refund has been completed |
| Payout processed or failed | A payout reached its final status |
| Dispute created | A customer has raised a chargeback |
| Settlement processed | Money has been sent to your bank account |
Set up a webhook
- 1Create an endpoint
Add an HTTPS address on your server that can receive messages.
- 2Add it in the dashboard
Go to Settings, then Webhooks. Add your address, choose the events and set a secret.
- 3Verify every message
Check each message’s signature with your secret, so you only trust messages from PayandPay.
- 4Reply quickly
Return a success response straight away and do any heavy work afterwards.
Good practice
- The same event can arrive more than once. Use its ID to avoid processing it twice.
- Events may arrive out of order. Check the current status if order matters.
- If your server doesn’t respond, the message is sent again [retry schedule — confirm before launch].
- Test your webhooks in test mode before going live.
SDKs & plugins
Updated October 2026 · 2 min read
Don’t want to build from scratch? Use a plugin for your e-commerce platform or an SDK for your app.
Plugins for online stores
Install the PayandPay plugin for your store platform, add your API keys, and PayandPay appears as a payment option at checkout. [List the supported platforms — confirm before launch.]
Install a plugin
- 1Install
Install the PayandPay plugin from your platform’s marketplace or our Developers page.
- 2Add your keys
Paste your test keys into the plugin settings. See API keys & test mode.
- 3Place a test order
Buy something from your own store in test mode to check everything works.
- 4Go live
Swap in your live keys once your account is activated.
SDKs for apps and servers
[List the mobile and server SDKs available — confirm before launch.] SDKs handle checkout, signatures and API calls, so your developers write less code.
No developer at all? Use a pay button, payment links or PayandPay Store. None of them needs code.

Security settings
Updated October 2026 · 2 min read
Protect your account and your money with a few habits and settings that take minutes to set up.
Protect your account
- Use a strong password that you don’t use anywhere else.
- Keep your registered email and phone number secure, because one-time passwords are sent there.
- Give every team member their own login. See Users & roles.
- Use approval workflows for payouts, so no single person can send money alone.
- Keep API secrets on your server only. See API keys & test mode.
Spot fraud attempts
- PayandPay will never ask for your password, OTP or API secret by phone, email or WhatsApp.
- Before you log in, check that the address is payandpay.in.
- Be wary of “customers” who overpay and ask you to send the difference back.
- Never share your screen with someone claiming to be from support.
If something looks wrong
Change your password and contact us straight away at support@payandpay.in or +91 852 852 7373. Read more about how we protect payments on our Security & Compliance page.
